Nirosha Kamalaraja is the 7th of mine. Each student of my different dance classes over the last 1 1/2 decades got the ability and the knowledge to delvin this Art.
Classical Indian Dance requires the synchronisation of the eyes and gestures to suit the music. It teaches concentration to every dance pupil by an intensive pedagogic work through a Guru.
Arangetram is becoming most populer and beloved in Europe. The Indian dance is divine. The dedication of all activity to the divine is the highest form of worship. The relationship of Guru and Shishya, teacher and pupil, is unique, the pupil serves his teacher with “ steady devotion” and the teacher leads the pupil from the darkness to the light.

The training for Bharatha Natyam will take a minimum seven years
under the direction of nattuwanar/guru (teacher), who with their assistance, criticism and appreciation, helped in the keeping up of the proper academic and artistic enviroment needed for the art.
For the proper and full exposition of Arangetram, it requires to be having an emotional and intimacy together with a hamonic effect. It is only revealed by the talent of the dancer, nattuvanar, mridangist as well as the singer.

Classical Indian dance in Hamburg

After a successful Arangetram last year in Toronto, Abirami is performing again in Hamburg.

And also I would like to inform you of the forthcoming Arangetram of
Miss Nirosha Kamalaraja:
a talented girl from Sri Lanka – living in Hamburg – will delve into this wonderful challenging progress on 20th of June 2009.
May my Lord “Nataraja” bless these upcoming young dancers.

INdRA

Now it is time to write about my „INdRA“.
INdRA – project has been founded in November 2008…
Since 1994 I have been performing Classical Indian Dance with storytelling. Late Ms Zainu Arnold from Wolfsburg had started to work with me and it went further with Ms. Ruthild Tillmann, and Ms. Ursula Rumpf…my sincerely thanks gose to all of them to make such a good experiences and a lovely memories.

With this experiences I met Ingo Keil and INdRA came to live.
Ingo Keil is a professional sculptor, bi-lingual storyteller and a tango-dancer since 1999.
He lives and works mainly in Germany, for tango he is a world wide traveller. His preferred material for sculptures is bronze and one of the subjects in his artwork is tango, its embrace and its movements.As a storyteller he is a graduate of the School of Storytelling at Emerson College in the UK. He performs in homes for the elderly, schools and other venues with regional stories from the south of Germany, stories by Wilhelm Hauff and folk tales from all over the world. Together with me he is combining Indian tales and classical Indian dance.

Our first Performance “Krishna Sharana” will tell about Lord Kirshna… his birth, his childhood, about “Kaliya Narthana”- his dance on a snakes head and his love with Radha.
And in the second half of the performance we will present two of the ten Incarnation (Dasavadar) – the Kurma and Narasimha… also stories of Mahabaharath >>more

Tango workshop with Komala Vos & Stefan Wimmer

The year 2009 starts for me with Tango Argentino…

I am glad to organize A workshop with Komala and Stefan from Nijmegen / Holand.

On 31st of January and 1st of February, at Musische Akademie in Braunschweig Neustadtring 9,

it’s not the (amount of) figures what makes the dance; it’s the connection and the moving in the music with your partner.

Komala and Stefan:
With their warm. enthusiastic, dynamic and playful approach they stimulate you to learn to feel the music and to translate and express this into smooth, relaxed but still powerful movements. Obviously they enjoy teaching and dancing but they never take themselves too seriously. Working with the students to learn the complicated looking movements, it’s simplicity what counts for them. The ultimate goal has to be that everyone feels the freedom to move with his partner in the music and express himself without the limitation of fixed patterns.

It’s finally Christmas time and my wishes to all of you…
This year ( 2008 ) has given me many performances and workshops in Europe and abroad, so much happiness, challenges and successes. I met very interesting people, made new friends and was introduced to new working partners.
